Susan works as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor at Calm Seas Psychotherapy with both adults and children. Susan’s professional work experience includes work as a school counselor in San Diego, CA and Buffalo, NY. Additionally, her experience incorporates nutritional and behavioral health coaching and small business entrepreneurship. Susan utilizes a solution-focused approach and works to honor individuals for who they are, helping clients to set goals for themselves using therapeutic interventions such as CBT, DBT, Creative Arts Therapy, Play Therapy, motivational interviewing, therapeutic animal support, nutrition and exercise. Counseling and special areas of interest include: chronic pain, PTSD, adoption, attachment and anxiety. Susan believes we are stronger together and she’s therapeutic engagement as a collaborative process rooted in respect, honesty and vulnerability.
