About the Study
This research study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using EMDR therapy to treat PTSD in first responders. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy approach that has been shown to help people recover from trauma and PTSD symptoms.
- 18 years of age or older
- A first responder (current or past)
- Willing to undergo EMDR therapy
What Participation Involves
If you choose to participate, you will:
Undergo 12 sessions of EMDR therapy with a licensed professional
Complete online self-report questionnaires about physical, mental, and emotional well-being at four time points
Have the option to participate in an interview to share your opinions about the therapy
All therapy sessions will be conducted by licensed professionals in a safe, confidential environment.
