Repetitive PTSD Support

Repetitive trauma begins when someone is exposed to many traumatic events. The exposure erodes the world view that the person once had. Belief systems can become skewed; the thought process and brain chemistry start to change. The fact that the exposure is repetitive in nature makes the journey to recovery and healing more difficult. This road is made more intense when people look for high-risk behaviors to help them cope with the symptoms that are lying under the surface. These behaviors sometimes include alcohol and drug abuse, gambling issues, sexual infidelities, high-risk sexual exposure, and general high-risk adrenaline-seeking behaviors. This six-week group discusses all the aspects of how and why repetitive trauma occurs.
