Thea Terenzi

MSW Candidate

Thea holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Arizona State University and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University at Buffalo. She has extensive experience working with children and families, providing educational and life-building skill sessions, emotional support, and connections to community resources. During her undergraduate studies, Thea provided care coordination, risk assessments, and clinical casework for ASU Counseling Services.
Presently, Thea is a clinical intern at Calm Seas Psychotherapy, where she works with individuals, couples, families, and children. Thea’s commitment extends to the law enforcement and first responder community, providing assessments and facilitating connection to resources.
She has experience with addiction treatment and recovery and currently co-leads a DBT group for law enforcement.
In addition to her professional work, Thea volunteered as a Hospice Program Aide, offering grief and loss support to families, companionship, spiritual support, and life reviews to patients.
Thea’s therapeutic approach is person-centered, supportive, and empowering. She utilizes an eclectic blend of interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Biofeedback, Solution-Focused, and Mindfulness-Based approaches to psychotherapy. Thea firmly believes that healthy therapeutic relationships encourage personal growth and build resilience. She strives to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for connection and collaboration.
