Heather ‘Bree’ Ann Brisson-Tuttle, LMSW is a Licensed Master’s in Social Work as a graduate from Simmons University in Boston Massachusetts with concentration in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Social Work in Healthcare and Military Sexual Trauma (MST). Experience of applied therapy includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, strengths perspective and Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT) based on the needs of each person.

The overall goal is to provide compassion, a judgment free zone, dedication and support for those who seek supportive therapy as unique as each individual with applied evidenced based practice. Overall experience in Social Work of 6 years working with varied populations and backgrounds including but not limited to Veterans, trauma victims and LGBTQ+. Currently working with Veterans at one of the many VA facilities in Connecticut as well as Calm Seas Psychotherapy. 

Before Social Work, Heather has worked in the Connecticut Army National Guard for 9 years with one combat tour OEF/OIF in 2010 and a Peacekeeping Tour in Trinidad in Tobago in 2007. During the 2010 combat tour, Heather earned a first degree black belt in Cheezic Tang Soo Do, a form of mixed Korean and American martial arts. Other experiences contributing to the development of knowledge and skills includes volunteer work in Veteran’s Equine Therapeutic Services (VETS) and working with Guardians of the Purple Heart in accomplishing the goal of obtaining the 501C-3 status for the program to assist those who have earned the Purple Heart and in need of charitable support during times of need.

During education in the bachelor’s program for Social Work, Heather influenced policy in working with District 2 Senator of Connecticut in 2014 by advocating for changes in the sexual harassment reporting policy and procedures which were implemented in July of 2020 in AR 600-20.
