This group utilizes an evidence-based psychoeducational model to intervene with perpetrators of domestic violence. Each 1 ½ hour session aims to challenge and redirect maladaptive behaviors and beliefs. The model encourages perpetrators to accept responsibility for abusive and violent behaviors, address patriarchal attitudes and move toward gender-egalitarian behaviors. Throughout the group sessions there would be a focus on challenging maladaptive cognitions and beliefs, developing emotional regulation strategies and communication skills.
