Mark Paixao is a highly dedicated mental health professional and resilience expert with extensive experience serving military personnel, law enforcement, and first responders. With over 24 years of military service as a medic in the United States Army, including deployments to four foreign nations and participation in multiple military operations, Mark brings a unique understanding of the challenges faced by service members and public safety professionals.
His distinguished military career, which includes leadership roles in units such as the 82nd Airborne Division and USSOCOM, has equipped him with firsthand insight into the stressors, resilience, and mental health needs of those in high-pressure environments. Mark’s advising of leaders on behavioral health issues within Special Operations Forces has further deepened his knowledge of psychological resilience and performance optimization.
As a certified Resiliency Level 1 and 2 trainer under the UPENN curriculum, Mark specializes in resilience training tailored to military and law enforcement populations. He currently works as an Intermediate Care Technician at the Veterans Affairs Hospital, and his clinical pursuits include a Master’s degree in General Psychology from Walden University and ongoing studies toward a Clinical Mental Health Counseling license and a second Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University.
Mark’s multidisciplinary background also includes licensure as a Vocational Nurse, certifications through FEMA and the American Red Cross, and tactical emergency medical training as a SWAT CONTOMS Medic. His training extends to active shooter response, law enforcement casualty care, and military-style medical support, positioning him to address the complex mental health needs of first responders and military personnel.
Beyond his professional qualifications, Mark is deeply committed to community service and philanthropy, actively participating in initiatives that promote education, resilience, and health both locally and globally. His broad expertise in trauma, resilience, and behavioral health, combined with his military and law enforcement experience, makes him a valuable asset in supporting those who serve in demanding and high-stakes roles.
