Alison Damm

LMSW

Alison graduated from Stony Brook University with her MWS in the spring of 2021 and a BSW, Summa Cum Laude as well as Alpha Sigma Lambda, the spring of 2020. She is a LMSW with Calm Seas Psychotherapy, Alison has experience in substance abuse treatment, as well as crisis intervention and counseling with the homeless population. Throughout her experiences she has worked with the forensic population, particularly post-incarceration, those with mental illness and cooccurring disorders, traumatic brain injuries, trauma and those effected by systemic issues. Alison is passionate about social justice and social change. Particularly the ways in which systemic issues effect specific groups of people and individuals. It is Alison’s belief that by identifying and processing trauma one can heal and redirect their trajectory; that changing behaviors begins with first understanding where those behaviors stem from.
